It was opened in 2017 for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. Equipped with the retractable roof and sliding pitch, it is one of world’s most modern arena technologically. Along-with competitions in a wide range of sports, it can hold events of different types especially concerts. Saint Petersburg Stadium will play host to seven matches of 2018 FIFA World Cup.
