London New Year Eve Fireworks

Spending New Year’s Eve in London? Be a part of one of the biggest party nights of the year as Londoners bid farewell to the last 12 months and welcome in a brand new year. There are numerous events and parties going on across London, but if you want to make it an unforgettable night, make sure you see the stunning fireworks display that bursts across the River Thames from the London Eye. More than 12,000 fireworks are shot into the night sky and on the stroke of midnight, the famous bongs of Big Ben can be heard across the City. To get a great view of the London New Year’s Eve Fireworks, you’ll need to buy a ticket, and these usually go on sale in late September.

Blue Area

Blue viewing area tickets cover the section of Victoria Embankment between Westminster Bridge and the Golden Jubilee Footbridge. Access to this area is available exclusively from the north side of the River Thames. Entrance for Gate 1 is via Victoria Station, while Gate 2 can be reached from Charing Cross Mainline Station and Embankment Underground Station. Entry is allowed from 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

Red Area

Red viewing area tickets provide access to the section of Victoria Embankment between the Golden Jubilee Footbridge and Temple Avenue. This area is accessible only from the north side of the River Thames. Gate 4 is accessible via Holborn Station (note that Holborn does not offer step-free access), and Gate 5 is accessible via Blackfriars Station. Entry is permitted from 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

Pink Area

Pink viewing area tickets grant access exclusively to Waterloo Bridge. This area can only be reached from the south side of the River Thames via Southwark Station for Gate 6. Please note that crossing the bridge to reach other ticketed areas is not allowed. Entry is allowed from 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

Green Area

Green viewing area tickets provide access to the area behind the London Eye. This can only be accessed from the south side of the River Thames via Waterloo Station for Gate 7. Entry is permitted from 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

White Area

White viewing area tickets provide access exclusively to Westminster Bridge. This area is only accessible from the south side of the River Thames through Waterloo Station at Gate 8. Please note, access is not available from Westminster Underground Station. Entry is allowed from 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

Orange (Accessible Viewing Area)

Orange (accessible viewing) tickets provide access to the Albert Embankment, located along the riverside of St Thomas’s Hospital. This area can only be accessed from the south side of the River Thames via Waterloo Station for Gate 9. Entry is permitted from 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

The Orange viewing area is the accessible viewing area for the event. Those with access needs should select 'Orange' when booking their tickets. This viewing area is suitable for people who want to avoid the more crowded viewing areas or need to access a vehicle drop off point. Our accessible viewing area is on the Albert Embankment in front of St Thomas’ Hospital, on the riverside opposite the Houses of Parliament. However, please note this area has a side view of the fireworks.

Features in the Orange accessible viewing area

The orange viewing area will be reasonably close to the event vehicle drop-off point (around 700m away). This can be reached by roads and pavements with drop curbs suitable for a wheelchair. However, the drop-off point is best used before 8 pm when road closures will start to restrict access be 2km from the nearest public transport, for example, Waterloo station.

It will have some seating, and you can bring your fold-up seating, too

Features in all other viewing areas

There are no specific zones or platforms inside the Red, Blue, Pink, Green and White viewing areas for people with access needs.



The Red, Blue, Pink, Green and White viewing areas will:

be suitable for arriving by public transport, but may require you to travel up to 2km to and from that transport hub.
be based on the streets. As the roads are closed to traffic you will be able to use the roads for step-free movement, suitable for wheelchairs.
have stewards on hand to answer any questions.
not have seating and you are not allowed to bring your own
be busy with large crowds surrounding the ticket viewing area, at the ticket entrance gates and inside the viewing areas.
be noisy with music playing through the event sound systems. No hearing loop is provided.
have accessible toilets, medics and places to buy food and drink.
